When you are burned out, rest does not fix it. You sleep and wake up just as flat. You try to push through, only to hit a wall. This printable burnout workbook is built for that state. Every page works directly on the biology of depletion.
This Is for You If
- You wake up tired no matter how long you slept
- Rest does not feel restorative
- Starting basic tasks costs more than you have
- You feel flat or numb more often than sad
- You have stopped caring about things that used to matter to you
This is the Burned Out state. Your nervous system has shifted into conservation mode after sustained depletion. It is not a mindset problem. It is a biology problem. The workbook treats it as one.
What Is Inside
The workbook has six sections. You do not have to read it in order. Find what you need today and start there.
Section 1 — How This Works
What burnout actually is, why rest has not fixed it, a body-signal recognition checklist, the real recovery timeline, and a start-here page for days when you cannot decide anything.
Section 2 — What Your Body Is Telling You
Ten one-page body checks. Heaviness, temperature, tension, breath, how you woke up, available energy, food and water, posture, your face, and how much you are feeling. You observe and mark. No analysis required.
Section 3 — How Your Space Affects Your Body
Eight room inputs your nervous system is reading right now: light, temperature, sound, texture, visual clutter, color, nature, and smell. Each page maps what your space is doing today.
Section 4 — How to Start When You Cannot Start
Fourteen physical interventions that require no motivation: cold neck, warm foot soak, the wall, the floor, two breath techniques, two eye techniques, EFT tapping, slow head turn, posture shift, slow walk, going outside, and rhythm.
Section 5 — What No One Tells You About Burnout
Eight permission pages: permission to rest without productivity, to stop before completion, to need more time, to ask for help, to do less than planned, to come back to the same page, to not know what you need, and to have nothing to say.
Section 6 — Things Worth Paying Attention To
Recovery tracking tools: a sleep log, competence moments log, backward look, social connection page, three nutrition pages, and a depression self-check with guidance on when to seek professional support.
How to Use It
There is no required order. The table of contents tells you which section fits where you are today. Open to that page and use one page. You can use three pages on a good day. You can use zero on a hard one. Neither is wrong.
The pages work in three ways. Some ask you to notice something. Some give you a physical tool to use right now. Some give you permission to stop doing something. You do not need to understand why any of it works for it to work.
Questions
Is this a physical book?
No. This is a digital download. You receive two PDF files immediately after purchase. No physical product ships.
What is the difference between the two files?
The print version is formatted for home printing or any local print service. The interactive version is formatted for GoodNotes, Notability, Noteshelf, and most PDF readers. Both contain the full 69 pages.
How is this different from journaling?
Journaling asks you to reflect and write. This workbook asks you to do things with your body and your space. The tools work directly on the nervous system. Reflection is optional.
What if I am also overwhelmed or scattered?
Burned Out and Overwhelmed are physiologically opposite states. They require different tools. If you are not sure which state you are in, use the free Know Your State tool before purchasing.
Do I need to complete it in order?
No. The workbook is designed to be used out of order. Use the table of contents to find what fits today.
What if a file does not open?
